Good neighbours make strong communities.
Since 2011 Highjinx has been more than a shop - it’s been a safe space where everyone belongs.
No red tape. No judgment. No assessments.
People just being people - and Neighbours helping Neighbours.
We’ve found our rhythm between a quirky little shop and a community hub that feels like home. A space built on belonging, connection, and care.
Thanks for helping us help others.

Our Mission
Neighbours helping Neighbours.
Simple. Human. Real.
43%
live in unsafe housing.
40%
live on the streets.
100%
are human beings.
At Highjinx, we meet those needs head-on:
Community Pantry - food shared daily from farms, restaurants, families, and caring folks.
Community Garden - fresh food, open space, and friendly faces.
15,000+
meals served each year.
77%
of food donated is canned.
23%
of food donated is fresh or frozen.
The Furniture Bank
A house isn’t a home without the basics.
Through our community furniture bank, Neighbours can access housewares and small furniture - freely, with dignity, and NO paperwork.
We match larger pieces directly with families, keeping storage costs low and impact high.
100,000
items shared each year.
6500
Neighbours supported.
0%
proof of income required.
How We Keep Going
We don’t take ANY government funding. We keep the lights on by selling donated treasures - vintage finds, oddities, and useful things that give back twice.
When you shop, donate, or share, you’re helping us help others.
Items We Always Need
Want to drop off something useful? These go out fast and make a big difference:
Sleepings bags
Sheets and towels
Hand warmers
Individual snacks
Frozen meals
Baby formula
Gift cards
Socks and underwear
*we do NOT take clothing.
Every little things helps a Neighbour - especially the small comforts that keep someone warm, fed, or cared for.
